The results of the global “MyVoice” employee survey confirm that ISS Switzerland is an attractive employer with a strong focus on inclusion, development, and diversity. A successful company is measured not only by numbers, but also by its culture - by how it treats its employees and what opportunities it offers them. With over 11,000 employees surveyed in Switzerland and a participation rate of 78 percent, there is a high level of identification with ISS. Particularly encouraging: 79 percent would recommend ISS as an employer. Respect, appreciation, and a sense of belonging were rated especially highly - values that have defined ISS for decades.
“Appreciation, development, and diversity - these are the pillars we rely on.”
- André Nauer, CEO of ISS Switzerland
An environment that brings people together
Satisfaction and engagement thrive where people can be themselves, feel seen, and are allowed to develop their talents. The survey shows that ISS offers exactly that: 83 percent of employees experience respect and appreciation as an integral part of the corporate culture. A central pillar of this culture is the commitment to diversity and inclusion. With 129 nationalities, ISS brings together an impressive diversity and is firmly committed to gender balance. The proportion of women in leadership positions has risen from 24 percent to 35 percent over the past five years - a significant step toward equal opportunity. But diversity means more than just gender diversity. ISS actively creates opportunities for people from a wide variety of backgrounds - regardless of gender, origin, or individual challenges.
Through its “Integration3” program, ISS offers refugees career prospects - and supports them not only as they transition into the workplace but also as they integrate into society. In addition to practical vocational training, the program is continuously expanded to include German language courses, assistance with dealing with government agencies, and social integration measures. At the same time, ISS is committed to employing people with disabilities and is constantly refining its programs to specifically support individuals from diverse social, cultural, or professional backgrounds. For ISS, Diversity & Inclusion means that all employees can realize their full potential - regardless of their personal circumstances. These initiatives are a living reality and are consistently being developed further to strengthen integration into the company and society in a sustainable way.
From Feedback to Action
For ISS, the results of the “MyVoice” survey are not an end in themselves, but a clear mandate. Employee feedback is directly incorporated into concrete measures to further strengthen ISS as an attractive employer.
A key driver is professional development: Through its own Learning Hub, ISS offers over 200 training and continuing education programs that specifically nurture talent and outline clear career paths. In addition, ISS strengthens its culture of recognition by highlighting outstanding achievements - through six structured recognition programs that range from individual commitment to cross-team successes. These programs include all 14,200 employees of ISS Switzerland, regardless of their position or level of employment.
The leadership culture is also constantly evolving. More dialogue, greater transparency, and an open attitude toward feedback and suggestions for improvement are key aspects of shaping a modern and future-oriented work environment. Another key topic addressed in the survey is compensation. ISS recognizes that competitive wages are a decisive factor in attracting new employees and ensuring their long-term satisfaction. That is why ISS actively advocates for attractive wages within the industry and is committed to raising the generally binding minimum wages in the building cleaning sector.
An Attractive Employer with a Vibrant Corporate Culture
ISS aims to be the most popular employer in the FM industry. With over 36 occupational groups - ranging from generalists to specialists, from unskilled to trained professionals, and from cleaning to engineering - ISS offers a broad spectrum of career opportunities and development prospects. In an extremely diverse workforce that includes both highly qualified professionals and semi-skilled employees, an inclusive corporate culture is the key to success. Respect, appreciation, and professional development are at the core of our approach. The high level of employee retention shows that ISS is on the right track - a path we are consistently pursuing to remain an attractive and modern employer in the future.
