Hot Springs and Highly Complex Technology
In and around Baden, hot water gushes from a total of 18 springs - or, to be precise, the water with the highest mineral content in Switzerland. For spa enthusiasts, this results in a unique wellness experience; for facility management, it presents exciting challenges that ISS has been tackling since the new spa opened.
Our Services in Building Systems Engineering
ISS Switzerland provides technical services for buildings and infrastructure throughout Switzerland - ranging from HVAC and refrigeration to plumbing, electrical systems, doors, and gates, as well as hygiene inspections and incident management.
Our HVAC service ensures a comfortable indoor climate and the smooth operation of your systems. Regular maintenance, repairs, and a 24/7 emergency service guarantee optimal performance. All work is performed in accordance with VDMA 24186 and is fully documented.
We perform ventilation system cleaning in accordance with the provisions of DIN EN 15780. Using special cameras, we determine the cleaning requirements and the cleaning interval. During dry cleaning, we loosen dirt and dust with rotating brushes, vacuum up the loosened material, and dispose of the residues properly. Wet cleaning is used for grease deposits; we apply a special grease remover and wash away the loosened grease with high pressure. After cleaning, we prepare a condition report with before-and-after photos for your records.
To ensure the efficiency and reliability of your systems, regular inspection and maintenance are essential. Our services include leak tests, as well as the inspection and cleaning of evaporators, condensers, and other key components. We perform all work in accordance with the recognized VDMA 24186 guidelines and document it accordingly.
Through ongoing maintenance, we ensure clean drinking water and efficient hot water production. We inspect pipes, fixtures, and drains for proper function, contamination, and wear. If necessary, we replace defective parts promptly. Our services also include leak detection, water damage repair, and draining and cleaning the domestic hot water heater. Our staff remove limescale deposits and inspect the sacrificial anode and the Legionella prevention system.
Our hygiene inspections in accordance with SWKI VA104-1 ensure air quality in HVAC systems and the rooms they serve. We use state-of-the-art technology to verify compliance with safety standards. In addition, our staff measure air quality for mold and total microbial count. We analyze the technical condition of the systems as well as the cleanliness of the building services and summarize the results for you in a detailed report.
Ensure the functionality and safety of your electrical devices and systems with our electrical service. We not only install and commission electrical systems, but also inspect and clean switchgear and distribution panels. Using thermographic measurements, our qualified staff identifies vulnerabilities in electrical systems without the need to de-energize them. Equipment inspections in accordance with SNR 46263 generally include visual inspections, functional tests, and electrical measurements.
Our inspection, maintenance, and repair services ensure that your doors and gates function properly. This includes emergency exit and fire-rated doors, roll-up and overhead doors, as well as swing and revolving doors. During scheduled inspections, we check that everything is operating smoothly and, for gate systems, we test the anti-pinch and fall protection features.
ISS: A Reliable Partner for Building Services Engineering
There are approximately 1,000 doors and gates installed at the Swiss Life Arena. Their proper functioning is crucial for safety, emergency exits, and event operations. ISS provides 24/7 door and gate service, thereby contributing to the operational safety of this heavily frequented arena.

Technical Services at a Glance
Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions about the maintenance, operation, and optimization of technical systems in buildings.
The optimal maintenance frequency for your air conditioning and ventilation system depends, among other things, on the type of system and how heavily the building is used. We recommend annual maintenance to ensure proper operation and high air quality.
Our comprehensive HVAC service includes regular inspection, maintenance, and cleaning of all relevant system components. Our experts check fans, heat exchangers, and other components. If necessary, they also perform thorough cleaning. In addition, they replace the air filters to ensure optimal air quality.
A professionally performed ventilation service offers you numerous benefits: By improving the air quality in your building, you contribute to the well-being and health of its occupants. At the same time, you optimize your system’s energy efficiency, thereby reducing operating costs. Regular maintenance extends the service life of the ventilation system and helps you avoid costly repairs.
For dry cleaning, we use rotating brushes to remove dirt and dust from the duct system. Using high-performance extraction systems and fine filters, our specialists collect the debris and dispose of it properly. They usually remove stubborn grease deposits using wet cleaning. To do this, they apply a special grease remover and wash away the dissolved grease with high pressure.
Professional ventilation system cleaning ensures fresh, germ-free air to breathe. It prevents health problems and plays an important role in fire safety. Grease buildup in duct systems can act as a fire accelerant in the event of a fire and trigger dangerous grease fires. For this reason, cleaning at regular intervals is especially important in commercial kitchens.
During a hygiene inspection, our experts conduct extensive measurements and analyses. Using microbial swabs, they determine the levels of mold and total microorganisms in the outdoor air, supply air, and indoor air. We also check the technical condition and cleanliness of the system.
Thermographic measurements are used to identify weak points in electrical systems. By precisely visualizing temperature differences, potential problems can be detected and resolved early on. Equipment inspections, on the other hand, are designed to ensure operational safety. In this case, we subject the equipment to a thorough visual inspection to rule out damage or improper use. In addition, functional and measurement tests ensure proper operation and electrical safety.
