On 13 November, the winners of the 2025 Digital Economy Awards will be announced in Zurich. “The first AI engine in facility management”, a project by ISS Switzerland in collaboration with Akenza, has been nominated in the “Digital Excellence Commercial” category. Will it be enough to secure victory?
The demands placed on modern workplaces continue to evolve. Flexible space concepts and dynamically adaptable services are in high demand. The ISS Smart Hospitality App is a step toward better meeting these demands. It combines IoT technology, real-time data, and automated processes into an integrated system. At ISS’s headquarters in Zurich - our “Living Lab” - we are testing the app in a live environment and continuing to develop it in collaboration with our customers

Our Project: “The First AI Engine in Facility Management”
There is enormous potential in building management. This is exactly where our solution comes in. ISS Switzerland and Akenza have jointly developed the first AI platform in the FM industry. It combines data from sensors, weather sources, energy consumption, and third-party providers and presents this information in an intelligently processed format. The benefits are:
- An energy-efficient dashboard and smart algorithms optimize energy consumption and actively contribute to CO₂ reduction.
- Personalized analyses delivered in seconds replace complex dashboards, enabling decisions to be made significantly faster.
- The integrated anomaly detection immediately identifies deviations, such as increased energy consumption. The intelligent chatbot promptly provides those responsible with the cause.
- The AI platform is available around the clock, scalable for multi-site portfolios, and opens up new business models through data-driven services.
