How will the facility management market evolve in the coming years? What does this mean for customers, and how will their needs change as a result? ISS is actively addressing these questions. To stay on the cutting edge and remain close to its customers, the ISS Group relies on first-hand information through its global Innovation Hub. With numerous offerings and projects, it is thus playing a pioneering role.

More Than Just Cleaning

Since 2017, ISS has been using its headquarters in Switzerland as a laboratory to design, test, and bring innovations to market - not just on paper, but in practice. Numerous small and large-scale pilot projects help to quickly identify customer needs and increase customer acceptance. Through these efforts, ISS is actively shaping developments in the FM market. After all, meeting customer needs and maintaining personal contact remain the foundation of a successful facility management company. ISS has long since moved beyond simply performing cleaning tasks and now offers a comprehensive portfolio of state-of-the-art facility services.

Analog and Digital Solutions

The portfolio includes solutions not only for the digital world but also for the analog world. For example, our “Pure Space Office ZERO” product enables chemical-free cleaning while reducing CO₂ emissions by over 90 percent. Another example is our sensors installed on-site, which provide data and insights for optimized space utilization. Similar offerings include our digital service button, sustainable waste sorting, and recycled paper towels.

Ready When Our Customers Are

Digitalization and ESG are transformative processes that will significantly change our society. ISS recognized this trend early on and is ready to continuously evolve through innovative projects. This way, we will continue to successfully meet our customers’ needs in the future with the help of modern technologies and sustainable solutions. To this end, we prioritize direct communication with our customers in our service offerings. Our goal is always to provide them with the right solution at the right time - wherever our customers are.

“ISS offers innovative and reliable products and services based on the latest technologies. With a focus on IoT, AI & Automation, User Experience, and Sustainability, we create sustainable and future-oriented solutions for our customers.”

Chemical-free routine cleaning with a 90% reduction in CO₂ emissions

Pure Space Office ZERO (PSOZERO) is revolutionising surface cleaning in office environments with an innovative SAO® (Stabilised Aqueous Ozone) solution. PSOZERO cleans by converting oxygen from the air into ozone, which is then introduced into cold tap water. This ozone breaks down organic matter, attracts germs and dirt, and removes contaminants quickly and effectively. After cleaning, the ozone reverts to water and oxygen. The benefits are impressive: PSOZERO reduces CO₂ emissions by 90 per cent and cuts plastic use by 83 per cent, as well as packaging by 72 per cent. As a chemical-free floor and surface cleaner, PSOZERO eliminates the risk of accidents involving chemicals and significantly simplifies the cleaning process. Furthermore, the solution reduces logistical effort and ‘Health & Safety’ requirements, which is healthier for both users and end-users.

30% energy savings: Innovative ventilation solutions for a better carbon footprint

Ventilation systems can be significantly optimised through bespoke measures. A condition analysis and potential assessment enable the motor to be precisely sized and operating times to be adjusted. Regulating the air flow rate and using energy-efficient A+ filters result in energy savings of over 30 per cent and ensure improved air quality. Inspection of the heat recovery unit and IoT-based filter replacement also extend the system’s service life. An experienced ISS energy manager and the building services team ensure a reduced carbon footprint, cost savings and readiness for future regulations.

Irène Kirwan: the woman who championed progress

Where do innovations come from? One thing is certain: they don’t just fall from the sky. A key source of innovation is the experience gained every day by ISS Switzerland’s 14,200 employees through their contact with customers. Sometimes, however, it is also worth looking beyond the day-to-day. What innovations is the ISS Group working on in Denmark? What are the current focuses in research and teaching within facility management? What developments are driving start-ups and partner companies forward? And then the key question: which of these could benefit ISS Switzerland’s customers?
