ISS’s success is built on the 14,200 employees and their daily commitment to our customers. We recognise exceptional dedication by presenting over 400 internal awards to individuals and teams each year. This team spirit earned us the ISS Group’s highest honour in 2025: the World Champion Award.
The quality of our services stands or falls with the people who provide them. 14,200 employees from 130 countries bring our service promise to life for our customers. People make the difference, because sustainable economic success is neither a matter of chance nor something to be taken for granted. It is an expression of our corporate culture. In particular, this includes:
-
the targeted professional development of our employees through more than 200 training and continuing education programs
-
attractive career paths at all levels
-
an internal fill rate of 63 percent for management positions
Recognition for exceptional performance
In May, approximately 400 executives from the 32 country organizations gathered in Oslo for the Global Leadership Conference (GLC) to recognize outstanding achievements among the company’s 320,000 employees worldwide. These “Inspire Awards” are presented annually to teams and country organizations that have achieved exceptional results in the areas of sustainability, people, finance, and growth.
The two most prestigious awards are the World Champion Award for the best country organization and the Global Apple Award for the employee with the most outstanding innovation. In both cases, the odds were in favor of a Swiss victory.
A winner for us - even without a trophy
The presentation of the Global Apple Award was the first emotional highlight from a Swiss perspective: Joël Bréa, a polymechanic from Lausanne, was among the six nominees out of a total of 320,000 ISS employees. Thanks to his expertise, entrepreneurial mindset, and creativity, he had distinguished himself as a candidate for the highest honor. The component he developed himself reduced a production step from 45 to 5 minutes and is now used in 35 factories worldwide.
Our employees shape our corporate culture. The numbers speak for themselves: 14,200 employees from 130 countries
>200 training and continuing education programs>400 internal awards
63% internal hiring rate for management positions
Teamwork as a Key to Success
People like Jöel come up with ideas and create innovative solutions. But successful implementation requires more than that: forward-thinking leaders and strong teams. Teams that put their hearts and minds into their work, go the extra mile for customers on the ground, inspire each other to peak performance, and celebrate successes together.
Every year, we recognize around 100 teams across Switzerland for exceptional performance in their day-to-day work. Representing them all are two technical and cleaning teams from French-speaking Switzerland (pictured). They impressed our client at an important event with their extraordinary dedication. All of these outstanding individual and team achievements collectively made it possible for ISS Switzerland to be named the ISS Group’s World Champion in 2025.
An Award for the Entire ISS Team
The World Champion title is a reward for how ISS Switzerland works together as a team, stands up for one another, and works together on behalf of our clients. After a seven-year hiatus, André Nauer, CEO of ISS Switzerland, was finally able to lift the coveted trophy once again - an emotional moment: “This award represents our strong customer relationships, our market success, the targeted development of our employees, and our positioning as a reliable partner.” He dedicated a special thank you to his team: “This trophy is thanks to you. It is the result of your dedication, your team spirit, and your passion. Thank you for showing every day what is possible!”

«Machines and processes have always fascinated me. But what really motivates me is helping people and seeing how something I’ve created makes their work easier.»
