While the patient is still being wheeled out, Merlyn is already in the room—she disposes of waste, disinfects the floor, and checks every detail. Within a few minutes, the operating room is spotless and ready. Her work is fast, precise, and indispensable—often unseen, but crucial to ensuring the surgical schedule is met.
Merlyn has been part of this high-pressure environment for 15 years. Her calm, focused demeanor and deep understanding of hygiene regulations make her an integral part of the surgical team. “I’m proud of my work,” she says. “We’re treated as part of the surgical team, and that motivates me every day.” She still remembers her early days clearly: “There was blood on the floor. I thought, ‘I can’t do this.’ But my colleagues supported me—and I stayed.”
