A 100% success rate and 32 reasons to celebrate!

This summer, too, we were delighted to celebrate 27 young professionals who have successfully completed their apprenticeships at ISS – with a 100 per cent pass rate. This is now the sixth year running that we have achieved this outstanding result at EFZ level. Five further colleagues have also successfully completed their adult vocational training under Article 32. A fantastic achievement!

Together with numerous guests, we celebrated this significant milestone at ISS headquarters, CUBE. It was an evening filled with joy, pride, and gratitude for the dedication, perseverance, and courage our apprentices demonstrated during their apprenticeships. Special recognition went to Sara Casto, who, as the top graduate with a grade of 5.2, was awarded a choice between a voucher for a language study abroad program worth CHF 6,000 or a continuing education voucher worth CHF 3,000.

As a special thank-you for their dedication and achievements, all graduates received a gift to help them on their future career journey: a suitcase filled with Red Bull, a Power Bar, a Chill pillow, and an ISS pocket knife, as well as personalized AirPods. In addition to CEO André Nauer, Brigitte Hotz (Head of Talent Management), Slavischa Nikolic (Head of Young

Talents), Mërgim Tahiraj (Training Manager for Commercial Apprenticeships), and Petra Matic (Back Office Coordinator for Young Talents) addressed the young talents with personal remarks before the festive event came to an atmospheric close with a high-quality flying buffet at Restaurant BUNT.

A big thank you to everyone who made this success possible: our dedicated on-the-job trainers and exam experts, the teams involved in the regions, and the Young Talents team. With passion and expertise, they make an indispensable contribution year after year.

Sara started her career even before completing her apprenticeship: In June, she began her first job in Key Account Management under Claudia Schibler as an Account Coordinator. At the same time, she successfully passed her final exams, earning the highest apprenticeship certification, and even passed her driver’s license exam on the side.

“It was an intense time,” she says, looking back. “That makes me all the happier that I managed to accomplish everything and can now really hit the ground running.” During her commercial apprenticeship, Sara got to know various departments at ISS, including working on-site with clients. “I was warmly welcomed everywhere and was able to take on responsibility early on,” she says. She was particularly pleased with the appreciation she received at every stop along the way. “Sure, I had to grit my teeth and push through sometimes, but my curiosity and joy in learning always outweighed the challenges.”

Angelo Antunes is 33 years old and has already completed several vocational training programs in Portugal. However, the path to having his qualifications recognized in Switzerland proved to be complicated. Instead of letting himself get discouraged, he made a firm decision: He wanted to earn the Swiss EFZ under Art. 32 - and do so in just one year. With support from the canton, a strong foundation of prior knowledge, and great self-motivation, he succeeded in doing exactly that. Today, Angelo has successfully completed his training and works as a Facility Services Manager in the Zurich and Basel areas. For him, one thing is clear: even as an adult, it’s always possible to pursue vocational training. “You just have to take the first step,” says Angelo, encouraging others to follow his example.

Riccardo Fasanelli and Dennis Ferreira look back fondly on their time as apprentices at ISS - and with good reason: Both have successfully completed their apprenticeships. Riccardo as a facilities maintenance specialist, and Dennis as a cleaning technology specialist. During their training, they felt well supported, taken seriously, and were able to grow in a supportive environment. They particularly remember the respectful treatment, the team’s willingness to help, and the joy they found in their work. Congratulations!

On July 4, 2025, a reception was held at the ISS location in Le Lignon (Geneva) to celebrate the successful completion of their apprenticeships by Arthur Cavalec and Rosha Mohammad. Arthur successfully completed his apprenticeship as a Facilities Maintenance Specialist EFZ despite a prolonged absence due to illness, while Rosha particularly excelled during the challenging final three months leading up to her final exam as a Commercial Clerk EFZ, during which she studied intensively for the exam while continuing to work. Both passed with flying colors. Congratulations!
