ISS Switzerland continues to grow and strengthens its position as market leader – turnover rises to CHF 914 million

ISS Switzerland has reaffirmed its position as a leading provider of integrated and technical facility services and as a key operator of critical infrastructure in Switzerland. The company manages over 15,000 buildings across Switzerland and, with around 14,000 employees, ensures the smooth day-to-day running of hospitals, life sciences sites, data centres, production facilities, transport hubs and office properties.

In fiscal year 2025, ISS generated revenue of CHF 914 million. Compared to the previous year (CHF 901 million), this represents an increase of 1.4 percent. This growth is driven by long-term customer partnerships, high service quality, and the targeted expansion of technical and integrated facility services.

The backbone of critical infrastructure operations

Whether operating rooms, pharmaceutical production facilities, data centers, or transportation hubs - ISS manages environments where outages would have immediate consequences for people, the economy, and the security of supply. This high level of operational stability is also reflected in the key figures: With a customer retention rate of 97.1 percent and a customer satisfaction rate of over 89 percent (CNPS), ISS confirms its market leadership in terms of quality as well.

ISS generates 83 percent of its total revenue from integrated service contracts (IFM/IFS). Of this, 40 percent comes from technical services (building systems, maintenance, energy management, and construction projects), 38 percent from cleaning, and 22 percent from support services. The technical sector, in particular, continued to grow in 2025. In addition, ISS carried out construction and transformation projects with a total value of over CHF 140 million. Customers are increasingly turning to comprehensive, one-stop operator and lifecycle models that increase availability, reduce costs, and support sustainability goals.

“Facility management is now systemically important. Every day, our teams ensure that hospitals operate, pharmaceutical companies produce, data is securely available, and work environments function properly. This requires technical expertise, digital control, and integrated services from a single source. We are consistently expanding precisely this role as an operator and strategic partner. Our growth confirms that there is clear demand for this approach in the market,” says André Nauer, CEO of ISS Switzerland.

Digitalization Increases Efficiency and Operational Reliability

Digital technologies are an integral part of ISS’s operating model. At its innovation hubs in Zurich and Lausanne, the company collaborates with PropTech partners to develop data-driven solutions for predictive maintenance, energy optimization, and intelligent service planning. At the heart of this is the “Talk to the Building” platform, which aggregates and analyzes building data from sensors, equipment, and service systems in real time. This enables early detection of malfunctions, proactive maintenance planning, and targeted allocation of resources. This increases operational reliability, lowers costs, and reduces energy consumption. ISS Switzerland was honored with the Digital Economy Award 2025 for this IoT- and data-driven solution.

Sustainability with Measurable Impact in Operations

At ISS, sustainability is implemented directly in day-to-day building operations and demonstrated through concrete results. As part of the “Pioneer” optimization program, a total of 990 energy analyses were conducted by the end of 2025 to systematically lower energy consumption and reduce emissions. At the same time, the Tork PaperCircle recycling service was introduced in 38 buildings, resulting in the recycling of 70 metric tons of paper towels and savings of approximately 75 metric tons of CO₂. In addition, ISS invested in its clients’ technical infrastructure, installed 48 new photovoltaic systems, modernized 700 electrical installations, and completely renovated the electrical systems in 19 buildings. The electrification rate of its own vehicle fleet was further increased: The number of fossil-fuel-powered vehicles fell by 15 percent, while 326 hybrid and electric vehicles are now in use. For these achievements, ISS Switzerland received the Gold Medal in EcoVadis’ sustainability rating, placing it among the top five percent of all companies evaluated worldwide.

Focus on Employees

ISS Switzerland is built on three strategic pillars: training and continuing education, internal career advancement, and a culture of appreciation. With 72 apprentices and 4 employees enrolled in Article 32 (adult education) programs across three occupational groups, along with over 100 vocational trainers, the company is making targeted investments in the next generation. More than 200 training and continuing education programs open up a wide range of development opportunities. 63 percent of management positions were filled internally, and the proportion of female managers rose to 36 percent (2024: 35 percent). At the same time, ISS takes social responsibility seriously: 372 refugees are currently employed by the company and are actively supported in their integration into the labor market and society. A strong culture of recognition is also evident in over 400 awards for individual and team achievements.

Outlook for 2026

In 2026, ISS Switzerland will consistently prioritize optimal customer support and the sustainable development of existing client relationships. With a clear focus on organic growth, innovative and sustainable solutions, and the continuous optimization of services, the company is strategically strengthening its market position. Investments in regional presence enhance proximity to customers and enable fast, needs-based on-site services. At the same time, workplace safety remains a key priority: the goal is for all approximately 14,000 employees to return home safely every day. In 2025, the number of workplace accidents was reduced by 2.4 percent, with one serious accident reported. At the same time, ISS is driving the adoption of new technologies to realize efficiency gains and further reduce CO₂ emissions.
